A COVID-19 safety update from Lyndsey and the My Mobile Physio team – August 2020
With an ever changing landscape and ongoing threat from COVID-19, I wanted to touch base and let you know what we are doing at My Mobile Physio (MMP) to address the increased risks.
There is nothing more important to us than the safety and wellbeing of our patients, their families and our staff. From the very beginning of COVID-19, we have had stringent safety and infection control policies and procedures in place. Following on from this we have introduced some stricter protocols including mandatory surgical masks to be worn for all patients, and staff temperature checks.
In addition, we have completed a COVID-19 Risk Assessment and Management Plan, and also completed our COVID Safe Plan.
What Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) do the My Mobile Physio team carry each day?
All members of the My Mobile Physio team are provided with PPE in order to keep themselves and their patients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have also undergone training in infection control, hand hygiene, how to safely put on and take off PPE, as well as how to safely dispose of PPE.
They are provided with an ongoing supply of:
- Surgical face masks
- Gloves
- Safety glasses
- Plastic aprons
- Anti-bacterial hand wash
- Hand sanitiser
- Alcohol wipes/cleaning detergent.
How do we ensure it is safe for our team to provide physio services?
In addition to wearing PPE and carrying out stringent infection control measures MMP staff will also:
- Not attend work if they are unwell.
- Attend COVID testing if they experience symptoms.
- Will not enter a home if the patent or household member is unwell.
- Check their temperature and ensure they are fit for work.
- Monitor the latest NSW COVID-19 updates daily and ensure they have not visited any hotspot locations at the times advised by the NSW Government.
- Clean personal items used in the workplace such as glasses and phones regularly using disinfectant/alcohol wipes.
- Clean equipment thoroughly between patients.
- The MMP team will continue to work remotely, all meetings will be done via zoom. This is to protect staff members, patients and ensure business continuity.
- Where safe, staff will socially distance in a patients home.
How you can help us …
Please contact us on 1300 79 12 49 and cancel your appointment with 24 hours’ notice if you:
